July this year, isn't that far away and it brings us to the graduation ceremony season, when over over 4,000 final year students from the University of Liverpool will become graduates and look to start their new careers. 
Many want to secure employment within in the Liverpool City Region, Cheshire, Manchester, South Lancashire and North Wales areas, so now is the ideal time to commence your recruitment programme, to get the best candidates.

The Merseyside Business Support Programme

Liverpool Vision has been delivering fully-funded business advice, guidance and support to the local business community under the Merseyside Business Support Programme (MBSP) since March 2012. This Programme is still going strong and is available for SMEs that are looking to grow their business.

UPDATE: Limited funding of up to £1,500 available for companies recruiting a Graduate!


The University of Liverpool in partnership with the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership is committed to supporting the local economy and is currently offering a training support package of up to £1,500 to local businesses recruiting graduates or students through the Stepping Stones programme. Whilst you are still liable for their wages, the training allowance will help the successful candidate develop any specific skills that would directly benefit your business.

The programme has already assisted 29 companies in creating 33 jobs across Merseyside including success stories such as MedePad, Seaking Electrical and Quantum of Value and there’s currently a limited amount of funding left over to help further new businesses.

Chris is a recent graduate from Business & Management from Leeds Metropolitan with over 10 years’ experience within customer service as well as experience working as an Accounts Assistant and is currently seeking a career within accountancy and/or finance in the Merseyside area.
