Quantum of Value is a leading business agility consultancy that uses a tailored approach combining engagement, research and bespoke training to provide measurable impact. Headquartered in London, Director Allison Bacher contacted Mike King from Liverpool Vision to assist their expansion into Liverpool. Mike explains how Liverpool Vision can help companies like Quantum of Value:

“Liverpool Vision is the Mayor of Liverpool’s economic development company and in particular supports businesses that are considering expanding or locating their business here.  We provide a wide range of services to companies such as identifying commercial property, introduction to key networks and contacts and raising finance amongst other things.  We were delighted to be able to work closely with Quantum of Value to provide the information, support and connections that has helped them to be able make an informed location decision.  The fact that a company of Quantum of Value’s quality chose Liverpool over other global locations is not only fantastic news, but testament to the quality of Liverpool as an investment location and the ability to recruit the necessary skills required to grow the business.”

In addition to new premises at the historic Port of Liverpool building, Quantum of Value also wanted to attract a local graduate with the skills and aptitude to become their Operations Manager. Unsure how to achieve this, Mike introduced Allison to Steve Wood, Project Manager for the Graduate to Merseyside service at the University of Liverpool. With a proven track record of helping organisations recruit graduates in a variety of positions, she came to the right place!

Working with senior executives in industry leading companies, Quantum of Value required an individual with the skills to manage the day-to-day operations. Steve facilitated a challenging assessment centre with several quality candidates and Joseph Brownless, a Masters graduate in Management Operations & Supply Chain from the University of Liverpool, emerged as the best candidate. With previous experience in business process analysis at a prestigious legal firm, he was offered the Operations Manager role for their new Liverpool Office.

Joseph has made in immediate impact at Quantum of Value, mapping a catalogue of processes and seeking ways to improve and streamline operations, whilst gaining considerable knowledge in Agile and Scrum. In addition to this, Joe is currently looking ahead, with plans to implement ISO 9001 Quality standards being the next top priority.

Joseph is very pleased with the Graduate to Merseyside service:
“Graduate to Merseyside has provided me with an excellent service. The case workers possess strong skills and endeavour to present graduates with the best possible opportunities in the surrounding area. I acknowledge the highly-competitive nature of the current job market, particularly for graduates, and feel very fortunate that Graduate to Merseyside were able to assist me in securing a fantastic position. The process from start to finish was totally professional and I couldn’t recommend the service enough.”

Major of Liverpool, Joe Anderson

The Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, officially opened their new Liverpool premises in the historic Port of Liverpool Building and commented:
“I am delighted that Quantum of Value have chosen Liverpool as the home for their second office. This is a great business with leading clients and attracting them to Liverpool when they could have chosen other cities across the world is a coup. We are a city that is open for business, and every day we are talking to other companies to attract more jobs and investment. It’s also encouraging to see the University of Liverpool’s Graduate to Merseyside service supporting businesses with their recruitment and increasing graduate retention in the Liverpool City Region.”

Allison is extremely pleased with the support she has received from Liverpool Vision, the University of Liverpool and the Graduate to Merseyside team:
“We have had terrific support from Graduate to Merseyside at all stages of the recruitment process. When we met at Liverpool Vision in July, Steve Wood sought to really understand or organisation, culture and both immediate and long-term requirements in order to help us find the right people. Furthermore, he provided the venue for the assessment centre and has remained in contact to ensure that Joe is settling in to the role.  The whole process has been professionally managed and I would recommend Graduate to Merseyside to anyone looking for high calibre young people.”

Quantum of Value’s experience & expertise demonstrates that the Liverpool City Region has dedicated support for businesses looking to develop and grow.
