Final Year Students of the Month: Tina and Sophie

Over the past couple of months we have been running “Meet the Team” events for final year students interested in working with local businesses in Merseyside. These sessions allowed us to find out more about these soon to be graduates to help identify the latest talent for our businesses. This month we profile two final year students, Tina and Sophie, who are looking for marketing and/or events related roles.

is a final year Business Studies student at the University of Liverpool graduating this summer with a predicted grade of 2:1. An enterprising, driven and ambitious individual, she has always strived to gain as much experience as possible whilst studying.

Her previous experience includes working in two national retail stores, a Marketing Assistant at Manchester City Football Club, a Student Representative at the University of Liverpool, and an Events Project Manager at Performing Arts in Aintree (PARTIA). In addition, throughout the past three years, she has set up and ran her own jewellery micro-business specialising in personalised jewellery, gaining recognition from influential business leaders in achieving accolades such as the ‘Institute of Engineering and Technology Entrepreneur Award’ and runner-up of the ‘Most Enterprising Student’ Award.

Having spent a year studying at the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy and a further three years at the University of Liverpool, She is now looking for a challenging position in events and/or marketing.

Sophie is a final year marketing student at the University of Liverpool graduating this summer with a predicted grade of 2:1. With a range of marketing, graphic design and administrative experience during her studies she has always been able to manage her studies and work commitments.

Her previous experience includes marketing internships with London based Maya Marketing and Addison Lee which also included graphic design responsibilities using Adobe Photoshop. These experiences have enabled Sophie to understand and handle responsibilities and fast paced nature of marketing in real world business. Through part time employment throughout her studies in customer service roles, she has learnt to be versatile and flexible as well as developing a positive work ethic that prepared her for the world of work.

Sophie is now looking to utilise her skills and experiences she has developed into a promising career in a marketing or events related role.
