This month we profile Dale a a University of Liverpool Masters graduate in Medicinal Chemsitry with Pharmacology who has proven research and sales experience through studies and employment and is looking for a challenging career with sales or business administration in Merseyside.
Dale graduated with a Master's degree in Medicinal Chemistry with Pharmacology in July 2014. During his studies he gained much practical experience and also developed key business skills including the ability to deliver an effective presentation and solve complex problems.
During his degree, he worked on two different projects, one of which involved developing a residue within a compound which is key in the treatment of autoimmune disease. Recently it has also been determined that this molecule is effective in the treatment of Hepatitis C.
In his Master's project, he worked independently within a research group which was tasked with developing a novel compound which could cure malaria. This project was heavily linked with and supported by GlaxoSmithKline. It involved lots of independent work in the lab, however, teamwork was also imperative to ensure its success.
Throughout university, he worked both as a sports coach and swimming teacher and later moved on to working in retail. In November 2011 he started working for Jack Wills as a Sales Assistant and was promoted to Supervisor a year later. With this came an increase in responsibility which has continued to grow over the course of the last two years. His main role is to drive sales in store and to motivate the team. In addition, he has developed excellent commercial awareness and can competently compile and write reports for Senior Managers and Directors on a weekly basis. He can also effectively use this information to implement future plans to make the 'business' run more effectively. Finally, he has played a part in recruitment, training, forward planning and disciplinary procedures.
He is now hoping to build on the skills he has developed at university and through his employment history and begin his professional life within a sales and or business administration related role.
